Led by world-renowned Olympic coach Dragan Jović, the prestigious Serbian club strengthens its international program through two specialized events: the Galeb Summer Camp and the Evolution Camp
Belgrade, Serbia — With more than 30 years of experience in developing high-performance athletes, Serbia’s Taekwondo Club Galeb continues to expand its international influence through two training camps that have become important meeting points for athletes, coaches, clubs and national teams: the Galeb Summer Camp and the Evolution Camp.

Both programs are part of the Galeb Camps concept, a high-performance training platform built around a system developed and continuously refined for more than three decades by internationally respected Olympic coach Dragan Jović.

The project goes far beyond intensive sparring sessions. Its main objective is to provide a structured process of technical, tactical, physical and mental development, adapted to athletes of different ages and competitive levels.
Galeb Summer Camp: Tradition, International Exchange and High Performance
The Galeb Summer Camp is the most established event within the program. For more than three decades, it has brought Serbian and international athletes together under a methodology based on experience, continuity and elite sporting standards.

The 2026 edition is scheduled to take place from July 30 to August 6 in Vrnjačka Banja, one of Serbia’s best-known tourist destinations. The camp will celebrate its 31st edition, confirming its status as one of the longest-running and most established taekwondo training programs in Europe.
The camp is designed for cadet, junior and senior athletes, offering high-level training sessions, specialized sparring practice, physical preparation, technical exchange and competitive experience with participants from different countries.
Its international character allows athletes from different schools and competitive systems to share the training area, creating an environment similar to the one they will later face at continental championships, world events and Olympic competitions.
Evolution Camp: Specialized Winter Preparation
The second major pillar of the platform is the Evolution Camp, a program focused on winter preparation and on helping athletes begin new competitive cycles with stronger technical and physical foundations.
Unlike the summer camp, the Evolution Camp places greater emphasis on specialized preparation, individual improvement, technical correction and the construction of a competitive base for the season ahead.
The fourth edition of the Evolution Camp was held in Belgrade from January 9 to 14, 2026, under the leadership of Dragan Jović and the technical team of Taekwondo Club Galeb.
The existence of both camps allows athletes to join the Galeb training system at different stages of the annual calendar. The Evolution Camp serves as a period of preparation and development during the winter, while the Galeb Summer Camp provides a broader international training experience with more than three decades of tradition.
A Training System Backed by International Results

One of the defining features of Galeb Camps is the consistency of its training system. For more than 30 years, athletes, coaches and national teams from different countries have participated in its programs, creating a multicultural environment focused on sporting development.
Numerous Olympic, world and European medalists have trained through this system, helping establish the Galeb camps as one of the internationally recognized centers for high-level taekwondo preparation.
The club’s history is closely connected to some of Serbia’s greatest international achievements. Among its leading athletes is Milica Mandić, Olympic champion at London 2012 and Tokyo 2020, as well as world champion in 2017, who developed her career under the guidance of Dragan Jović.
World champion Vanja Stanković is another notable athlete associated with Taekwondo Club Galeb, having won the global title in 2017.
These results demonstrate that the methodology presented at the camps is not merely a promotional concept, but a proven system tested at the highest levels of international taekwondo.
Dragan Jović: The Leadership Behind the Project
The sporting identity of Galeb Camps is directly linked to the work of Dragan Jović, one of the most influential coaches in modern European taekwondo.
His philosophy is based on the progressive development of athletes, discipline, detailed planning, match analysis and the ability to adapt training methods to the demands of modern competition.
Jović has received multiple Coach of the Year honors from the Olympic Committee of Serbia, reflecting the impact of his work on the country’s international sporting success.

Together with the technical staff of Taekwondo Club Galeb, the Serbian coach continues to update and improve a system that has supported different generations, from young developing athletes to established competitors at world championships and Olympic Games.
Serbia as a Meeting Point for World Taekwondo

The two camps organized by Galeb regularly bring athletes and coaches from different continents to Serbia.
Beyond their technical value, these training gatherings also provide an important cultural and personal experience. Participants have the opportunity to live and train together, exchange knowledge, discover new working methods and build relationships with teams that share similar competitive goals.

The Galeb Summer Camp and the Evolution Camp represent two complementary stages within the same vision: developing athletes capable of continuous improvement and prepared to meet the demands of high-performance competition.
With more than three decades of tradition, Olympic and world-level results, an evolving training methodology and the leadership of Dragan Jović, Galeb Camps continues to position itself as one of the leading international references in taekwondo preparation.
