Munich, Germany. Turkey finished as the leading nation at the 2026 European Taekwondo Championships, held from May 11 to 14, 2026, at BMW Park München in Munich, Germany.
With this performance, Turkey rises to first place in the all-time gold medal standings, reaching 67 gold medals and surpassing Spain by just one gold, with Spain holding 66.


Turkey topped the overall standings and also led both the men’s and women’s classifications, confirming its position as one of the strongest taekwondo nations in Europe.

In the senior medal table, Turkey finished first with 3 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals, for a total of 8 medals. Belarus ranked second with 3 gold and 1 bronze, while Hungary completed the top three with 2 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals.



Spain and Great Britain also stood out among the top five teams. Spain placed fourth with 1 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze, while Great Britain finished fifth with 1 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals.

Overall, the senior competition produced 16 gold, 16 silver and 32 bronze medals, distributed among 21 countries.

Turkey Also Dominates Para Taekwondo Team Standings
Turkey also led the Para Taekwondo team standings, finishing first with 3 gold, 2 silver and 9 bronze medals, for a total of 14 medals.

Georgia placed second with 2 gold, 3 silver and 7 bronze medals, while Great Britain finished third with 2 gold medals.
The Para Taekwondo competition concluded with 12 gold, 12 silver and 21 bronze medals, for a total of 45 medals across 12 countries.
