Greece is preparing to welcome the international taekwondo community for the Greece Open G1–E1 2026, scheduled to take place from 6 to 8 November in Kozani, offering an excellent opportunity for clubs, national teams and athletes from different countries to compete on an international stage.
The DAK Lefkovrysi Sports Hall “Vasilis Flegas”, located in the region of Western Macedonia, will host three exciting days of competition, bringing together emerging talents and experienced athletes seeking valuable international ranking points.
The championship is organised by World Taekwondo Greece (Hellenic Taekwondo Federation), led by Olympic champion and President Michalis Mouroutsos, with the involvement of the European Taekwondo Union (ETU).
THREE DAYS OF COMPETITION AND VALUABLE RANKING POINTS
The Greece Open 2026 features a competition programme designed to provide opportunities for athletes at different stages of their sporting careers, from developing talents to established senior competitors.
The official competition schedule is as follows:
- Friday, 6 November: Juniors E1
- Saturday, 7 November: Cadets E1
- Sunday, 8 November: Seniors G1
Competition is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. on each of the three days.
One of the championship’s main attractions is its official international ranking status.
Senior athletes will have the opportunity to earn G1 points towards the World Taekwondo World Ranking, while junior and cadet competitors will be able to collect E1 points towards the European Taekwondo Ranking.
This makes the Greece Open an important event for athletes aiming to improve their international standing, gain competitive experience and test their abilities against opponents from different countries and training systems.
INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS AND ELECTRONIC SCORING TECHNOLOGY
The championship will be conducted in accordance with official World Taekwondo competition rules and will feature the KPNP Gen 2 electronic scoring system, providing the technical conditions required for high-level international competition.
Organisers are working to deliver a professional competitive environment for both experienced athletes and promising young talents looking to advance their sporting careers.

REGISTRATION OPEN UNTIL 27 OCTOBER
World Taekwondo Greece invites clubs, national federations and international teams to complete their registrations and become part of this exciting championship.
The registration deadline is 27 October 2026, at 11:59 p.m. CET.
Registration must be completed through the official WT GMS / Simply Compete platform.
The standard registration fee announced by the organisers is €150 per athlete. All participants must comply with the requirements established in the official event regulations.
