
BELGRADE. The 22nd edition of the Galeb Belgrade Trophy, Serbia Open 2025, has concluded with great participation and organization, with seven (07) areas, qualified judges, and highly technical cadet, junior, and senior athletes, with several world and Olympic champions in action.

The 22nd Galeb Belgrade Trophy – Serbia Open 2025, held at the Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall in Belgrade, Serbia, was definitely packed with sports stars. We were able to see athletes such as Adriana Cerezo (-49 kg) (Spain), Hatice Kubra Ilgun (-57 kg) (Turkey), Sarah Chaari (-73 kg) (Belgium), Viviana Marton (-62 kg) (Hungary), Hakan Recber (-68 kg) (Turkey), and Aleksandra Perisic (-67 kg) (Serbia) in action, World champions such as Vanja Stankovic (-53 kg) (Serbia), Daniel Quesada (-74 kg) (Spain), Merve Dincel Kavurat (-53 kg) (Turkey), Nadica Bozanic (-73 kg) (Serbia), and Luana Marton (Hungary), among others, in addition to famous and renowned coaches from various parts of the world, present in Serbia.





The founder of this spectacular competition, Dragan Jovic, and his team, thanked all the participants, as well as the key Taekwondo organizations, World Taekwondo and the European Taekwondo Union, for their technical support and institutional endorsement.






From the Ranko Žeravica Gym, Jovic, a world-renowned and Olympic coach with distinguished awards as a coach in Serbia and the World Taekwondo Championship, said “that this tournament is organized with the highest standards to ensure that athletes, coaches, and referees have what they need to do a good job. The most important thing for us is that the participants feel at home in Serbia, where we try to give our best and be as warm as possible to the visiting World Taekwondo family,” he noted.

On the official side, a great job was done by Mr. Bruno Brugnano (TD), Mr. Mario Glasnovic (CBS), ETU delegate Mr. Ioannis Mouroutsos, Ref chairman: Vladan Novakovic (Serbia) and the head of the organizing committee, Ms. Danica Jovanovic – who all led the competition with exceptional professionalism and dedication.

However, we successfully maintained a high level of control and excellence throughout the event. The ReStrike IVR system and TPSS OVR system once again proved to be top-class, enabling the event to flow smoothly and according to schedule. Our doctor, Snežana Banković, together with her medical team, gave their maximum effort to provide professional care to everyone in need,» he expressed.

Winners

In the Senior category, Turkey, Spain and Serbia took the first three positions, in an event that had about 37 countries, 50 referees and a total of 804 competitors. In the cadet category, Hercules, Sport School, and TKLIT took the top three positions, while in the junior category, the Kazakh national team, Taekwondo Marjan of Croatia, and SC AHIL of Bulgaria took first, second, and third place. Best Referee, Maja Stanojevic (BIH) y Mahmood Salam (IRAK).
