The President of the World Taekwondo Federation (WT), Dr. Chungwon Choue, is in Belgium as a special guest at the 2022 edition of this traditional event.
On the eve of the G2 world ranking championship to be held in Lommel, the taekwondo leader met with important authorities of the city of Brussels with the intention of strengthening ties and promoting future sporting events.
The Mayor of the city, Philippe Close, and the Councillor for Sports, Bennoit Hellings, expressed their interest in promoting the organisation of a world grand prix.
Dr Chungwon Choue also thanked the authorities for their interest in supporting the Humanitarian Taekwondo Foundation, which helps people in difficult conditions around the world and promotes peace.
Also present were the Belgian taekwondo authorities, who are organising the Belgium World Open 2022, which starts on Saturday 19 and brings together more than 65 countries and 1200 athletes.
Erik Baert President of Belgium, Moustapha Akkouh, Veronique Casters, Hassan Sadeghi, and other taekwondo personalities were present at this important event.
