Sofia, Bulgaria has become one of the capitals of European and World Taekwondo. The ability of the Bulgarian TKD Federation to host large Taekwondo tournaments has been demonstrated on several occasions.
Sofia is the capital of the Balkan nation of Bulgaria. It is located in the west of the country, under the Vitosha Mountain. The city's iconic sites reflect more than 2,000 years of history.
However, behind these organizational achievements there is a man who with his management and work team makes it possible. This is Master Slavi Binev, current president of the Bulgarian Taekwondo Federation.


Binev belongs to a generation of good taekwondo practitioners in Bulgaria. He is a Taekwondo Master with 40 years of experience who trained and taught genuine Taekwondo over the years.
Polyglot, politician with important positions in the national and European Parliament for Bulgaria, director of various organizations linked to taekwondo such as ETU, Kukkiwon, is the current president of the Bulgarian federation and vice president Europe Taekwondo Unión.
Slavi, also a renowned businessman, has contributed to his country and the city of Sofia holding important global events that include World Cups and Grand Prix.
Future 2023

With a team of committed people and all the support of the European Taekwondo Union, Slavi for this 2023, his country promises two (02) great activities for Taekwondo, with the Bulgaria Open (G2) and the European Taekwondo by clubs, all this en route to Paris 2024.

Vision 2023
We spoke with some of the Bulgarian Taekwondo Federation staff, who indicated that it is an honor to be part of the team of President Slavi, who has brought the best events to Bulgaria right after the pandemic.
