
With 7 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medal, Russia dominated the European Junior Championships 2021 held in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Hercegovina) on 12-15 November. Croatia also showed its power by grabbing 3 gold and 2 bronze medals. Turkey followed with 2 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze medals.

Gold medals were also clinched by Italy and Azerbaijan winning both 2 medals and Spain, Hungary, Belgium and Slovenia wining all one gold medal. Newly appointed Secretary-General Antonio Barbarino commented:
“This event showed once more that Russia is dominant in the European level as well. With their great success in Tokyo and now here in Sarajevo, it shows that their sport policy reaches from senior level to junior level as well. The event hosted by the Bosnian federation was done with utmost care and all went smooth”.
With a few more events left this year, the Taekwondo Family is now preparing for the Austrian Open as well as the Open World Women’s event in Riyad and the World Para Championships in Istanbul.
