Today during the opening ceremony of the European Senior Taekwondo Championships in Manchester GBR, Master Henk Mejier, who for many years has contributed to the development of Taekwondo in Europe, was honoured by the European Taekwondo Union.
Henk has been Olympic coach for the Netherlands, France and Greece and in 1985 he won the world gold medal in Korea.
The ETU awarded the 9th Dan of Honour to the first western world champion to win a title in South Korea.
“I thank the ETU for this invitation and the ceremony, which is very much appreciated by me,” said the Dutch giant, world famous for his great career as athlete, coach and teacher.
