Lee was electd in the by-election on January 28, 2021.
He was a former member of Korea Assembly, and has 9th Dan Taekwondo Certificate.
The By-Election of Kukkiwon President in 2021
For the first time in history, this election is scheduled to be held by online voting, taking into consideration the situation where it is difficult for the electoral colleges who are living or staying outside of Korea due to COVID-19.
Kukkiwon President was elected for the first time in 2019 by a global electoral colleges composed of world Taekwondo people.
Unfortunately, the president of Kukkiwon has been vacant for the past year due to a problem in the election process.
