Claudio Nolano (ITA), current Olympic coach of Italy, distinguished himself in international Taekwondo by winning a bronze medal at the World Taekwondo Championships in Manila Philippines 1995, among other results.

He was a three-time European Championship medallist, winning silver in Zagreb (Croatia) 1994 in the 58-64 kg division, bronze in Samsun (Turkya) 2002 in -74 kg and gold in Bonn (Germany) 2006.

During his career that included three participations in World Championships, World Military Championships, Pre-Olympics, World Cups, the audacious Italian accomplished the feat of competing from the 54 kg category, going through 58 kg, 64 kg, 70 kg, 72 kg, and even seeking the place in Athens 2004 he participated in -80 kg.

Sydney 2000

He also fought in the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games in the -68 kg category, where he faced the American Steven Lopez.

In combat, Nolano distinguished himself for his excellent technique and fast movements, which made him a very difficult opponent.

Claudio Nolano made formidable fights during his experience as an athlete of the Italian national team, such as the Mexican Rafael Zuñinga, Clayton Barber (USA), Rosendo Alonso and Gabriel Esparza (Spain), Saei Hadi (Iran), Ertan Bastug (Turkey), Tommy Mollet (Holland), among others.
