Local teams from Serbia, Italy, Greece, and the African continent with Egypt in the Senior category took top honors at the Galeb Trophy Serbia Open 2023, held on September 23-24, 2023, at the Sports Hall “Ranko Žeravica” (Hala Sportova) , Belgrade-Serbia.

The event organized by the Galeb Taekwondo Club, directed by the Olympic coach, Dragan Jovic, endorsed by the Serbian Federation, World European Taekwondo and World Taekwondo, is undoubtedly one of the best events in Europe and the world.

The Serbia Open 2023 has had an impeccable presentation, top-level judges, electronic systems, livestream, draws (taekoplan), press media to give visibility to the public on social networks (mundotaekwondo), punctuality, security and order in the competition.

This great international event turned 20 years old. The double Olympic champion, Milica Mandic, present enjoying and supporting the Galeb Trophy 2023.

Next Stop 2024

«I am happy because we did the event with a lot of love and dedication for the friends of world Taekwondo. We had athletes from five continents, including selected from four continents, Olympic and world medalists from Egypt, Croatia, Serbia, GB, Italia, among others, said Dragan Jovic.

We also have to highlight the cadet and youth athletes who showed their great talent. Many congratulations to all.

One of the aspects of the event was that the athletes received their beautiful medals in a wonderful place for winners.

Mission accomplished

Both the technical delegate of the World Taekwondo, Iliya Dimitrov and Ksenija Levai (Serbia) Head of Referees, were satisfied with this Serbian Open 2023. They did a great job supervising all the necessary requirements so that everything is fulfilled in the best possible way.


The ETU sports director, Mr. Ioannis Mouroustos was also present at the vigorous tournament that reached more than 800 participants, also counting the coaches, officials and judges.

The president of the Technical Commission and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games Committee, Mohamed Shaaban, was also present as a guest at this celebration, and Mr. Miroslav Krklješ Serbia Taekwondo Federation, General Secretary.
