Grand Prix Final

The updated electronic Protector and Scoring System Introduces punch detection across the body protector’s entire valid scoring area and a redesigned body protector.

Barcelona, 3 October 2026. Daedo will be present at the Astana 2026 Grand Prix Final with Daedo Gen3X, the latest evolution of its electronic Protector and Scoring System (PSS) for taekwondo. The key innovation is electronic punch detection across the body protector’s entire valid scoring area, including the lateral zones.

Following a process of development, testing and technical refinement, Gen3X introduces a feature that was not included in the approved configuration of the previous Gen3 system: electronic punch detection.
A Multi-Stage Development and Testing Process

During its development, Gen3X was presented at a demonstration in South Korea before World Taekwondo (WT) delegates, who observed the system in action and the advances in electronic punch detection.
The system was subsequently put into practice at a school in South Korea, allowing testing with athletes to continue. The process then progressed to the Dracula Open 2026 in Romania, where Gen3X underwent its first official competition test.

These stages enabled Daedo’s technical team to evaluate the system’s performance in different environments and make adjustments ahead of its implementation in international competition.
Punch Detection Across the Front and Lateral Scoring Areas

The new Gen3X extends punch detection across the body protector’s entire valid scoring area, including the lateral zones. This development enables the detection of impacts throughout the permitted area, in accordance with the system’s technical requirements.
This technology represents one of Gen3X’s main advances and reflects Daedo’s ongoing work to adapt its solutions to the demands of competitive
Taekwondo. A Redesigned Body Protector and Compatibility with Previous
Generations

Gen3X also features a redesigned electronic body protector, developed as part of the system update.
Gen2 and Gen3 electronic headgear and sensor foot protectors are compatible with Gen3X. The body protector and punch-sensing device, however, are specific to the new version and are not interchangeable with those from previous generations.
This compatibility allows users to retain part of their existing equipment when transitioning to the new system.
A New Stage for Daedo Technology

The presence of Gen3X at the Astana 2026 Grand Prix Final will mark a new stage in the evolution of Daedo’s electronic systems in international competition.
With this update, the company reaffirms its commitment to developing technology for taekwondo and working closely with the sporting community to address the needs of athletes, coaches and officials.
